Craftsmen's Classic Art & Craft Festival
If you are looking to browse, buy or just appreciate a nationwide gathering of talented artists displaying and selling their art, then be sure to come to the Craftsmen's Classic Art & Craft Festival, an annual event. No matter what your style or budget is, there will surely be plenty of eye pleasing objects to awe at, and the unique purchases you make here are mostly hand crafted and one of a kind. This fabulous festival will be taking place on July 31 through August 2 at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. The show will be open to the public and will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, July 31 and Saturday, August 1 and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, August 2. 7th Annual Kids’ Triathlon
If you have active and talented children, give them an opportunity for some fun with other kids, a challenge, and a confidence inducing experience for them. If you are visiting Myrtle Beach in August then sign your kids up for the 7th Annual Kids’ Triathlon Beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 15 at the Pepper Geddings Recreation Center.
The start of the triathlon begins in the pool, which is followed by biking and running routes on the courses and sidewalks surrounding the center. All roads will be closed to traffic and patrolled by public safety officers. The child participants will receive a race shirt, swim cap and medal. Place medals will be awarded to the top girls and boys in these age groups: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14 and 15-18. You must pre-register for this event and competing spots are limited. The cost of the race is $23.00 for city residents and $40.00 for non-city residents. Race details and dates:
· Ages 7-10 will swim 100 yards, bicycle 5k and run 1k
· Ages 11-18 will swim 200 yards, bicycle 10k and run 2k
· Registration Deadline: 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 12
· Bike Inspection by Beach Bike Shop: 4:30-7:00 p.m., Friday, August 8 (racers drop-In with bike)
· Packet Pick-up and Course Orientation: 7:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., or 5:30 p.m., Friday, August 15 at Pepper Geddings Recreation Center
