April Brings Spring and Plenty of Things to Explore at the Shore

April is when the birth of spring starts to further expose the waking of life from dormancy. The flowers bloom and the ducklings hatch and the sun starts beating down hotter.  There is more to do and ways to celebrate as the weather grows increasingly pleasurable.  If you are visiting Landmark Resort during April, here are some events and ideas that may give you a unique experience for your vacation.

  • Earth Day Music Fest and Expo is a three-day long event traveling to three different locations to accommodate the entire Grand Strand area. There will be music, art and environmental education.  The first day of the event is on April 18th at the House of Blues Sugar Shack from 4:00 pm to midnight.  It will showcase roots, rock and reggae music with Treehouse, 5-Forty and Sundries Vibes.  The second day, April 19th, will be at the Conway Riverfront Park from 11:00 am until 6:00 pm where the main expo will be featured along with many vendors and wellness activities.  There will be six different bands playing that day.  A river clean-up and art show with students of Coastal Carolina University who are a part of the Community Sustainability Initiative will be present as well. There will also be egg races for kids. On Sunday, April 20th, the Boathouse Waterway Grill will host a multitude of bands from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm.  Here are the line ups of the bands for these three days(http://edmf.wordpress.com/lineup/)

  •  f.l.a.v.o.r. stands for fresh, local, appetizing, valuable, original, restaurants. The Myrtle Beach Convention Center will be hosting this fourth annual event on April 8th from 4:00 pm until 7:30 pm.  It is a family-friendly affair which gives visitors of Myrtle Beach a chance to try many of the magnificent restaurants without having to visit them all.  In addition to food samples there will be beer and wine to try as well.  There is no charge for admission and sample tickets are available inside for sale. Tickets will be given in exchange for food samples and range from one to three tickets depending on the type of sample. Prices for tickets range from $1.25 to $2.00 depending on the amount purchased.  There is no need to make a reservation.  Come and feast on the diverse flavors by the beach and make your next eating out expedition a breeze by figuring out which places are best.

  • Art in the Park 2014 is now in their 42nd year thanks to The Waccamaw Arts & Crafts Guild which is a non-profit, state-chartered organization.  On the 5th and 6th of April from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm, there will be an art show at Chapin Park which is located on 1400 North Kings Hwy.  Another art show will be held at Valor Park located on 1120 Farrow Parkway in Market Common.  Here artists are given the opportunity for their work to be put on display and sold.  Enjoy some sun in the park, give thanks to the arts, and explore unique pieces of man-made work while you take a break from yours.

  • Landmark Resort has an Easter celebration during the Easter holiday weekend in April.  There will be a special brunch, visit from the Easter bunny and an Easter egg hunt. See further information here                                    ( //www.landmarkresort.com/blog/landmarks-easter-extravaganza/).

No matter when you decide to come visit, you will find that Myrtle Beach has much to offer besides the soft sand and waves.  Come see why our paradise is all the rave and enjoy your stay!
