2nd Avenue Pier
Be sure to take your family to the 2nd Avenue Pier during your next visit to the Landmark. Located just a short drive from the Landmark, this pier is one of the most iconic and historic places in Myrtle Beach. Whether you want to spend the day fishing, grab a bite or relax with a drink, 2nd Avenue Pier has it all. Their Pier House Restaurant and Open Air Bar are the perfect place to unwind after a day at the beach.
Alligator Adventure
While spending the day at Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach, be sure to take the whole family to Alligator Adventure. A unique experience, Alligator Adventure offers families an up-close look at not only alligators but also turtles, beavers and tropical birds! Plus, you can even see alligator’s getting their dinner or watch a pro handle a snake!
Brookgreen Gardens
Located just a short drive south of Myrtle Beach in Murrells Inlet, Brookgreen Gardens is a wonderful place to spend the entire day with your family. For a family looking to enjoy art and the outdoors while on their Myrtle Beach vacation, Brookgreen Gardens should be a must-see attraction.
The gardens began as a personal purchase by Archer and Hyatt Huntington to preserve the 10,000 acres of land and boasts more than 1,400 sculpture pieces which are visible from walking paths that wind throughout the garden. Brookgreen Gardens is an attraction you will want to spend the whole day at, so plan accordingly!
Brookgreen Gardens is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with extended hours during the summer.
Calabash Fishing Fleet
Take the whole family to Calabash Fishing Fleet during your next trip to the Landmark. Located in Calabash, NC, they are worth the drive. They offer a variety of cruises including the 1.5 hour Sunset Waterway Cruise, which is great for couple or families. Or, if your family wants to see dolphins, they offer Dolphin Adventure Cruises where you will see dolphins, sharks, fish, starfish and more. Plus if for any reason no dolphins are seen on the cruise you are on, then you will get your next cruise for free! They also have 11-12 hour fishing trips for those who want to spend the day out at sea, fishing from their Navigator boat.
Children’s Museum of South Carolina
If you have kids, be sure to take them to the Children’s Museum of South Carolina next time you are in Myrtle Beach. Filled with fun and hands-on learning, the museum is the perfect place for family fun and education. Whether your kid wants to “drive” a VW, mine for gems or report on the weather, the museum has it all! In addition to great exhibits, the museum also hosts a variety of events throughout the year including Special Guests Mondays, Tales for Tots, and Kitchen Science.
Downwind Sails Watersports
Downwind Sails Watersports is the perfect place to take the family for some ocean-fun adventures! From parasailing, to jet ski rentals to banana boat rides, Downwind Sails has it all. Their staff has experience and works to make sure you are safe no matter which water thrill you choose!
Family Kingdom Amusement Park
Family Kingdom Amusement Park is a great place for the entire family to go. After you are done swimming in one of the Landmark’s many pools, take the whole family to Family Kingdom, which is located just blocks north of the resort at 3rd Ave. South and Ocean Blvd. From fun easy-going rides for kids to thrill-seeking rides for adults, Family Kingdom has something for everyone including a water park, a variety of rides, go-carts and bumper cars. Bring the whole family for a day filled with fun!
La Belle Amie Vineyard
If after a morning of lying in the sun on the beaches by the Landmark you need a way to relax, check out the La Belle Amie Vineyard in Little River, just north of North Myrtle Beach.
La Belle Amie provides relaxation at its finest, complete with wine tasting.
The vineyard produces a variety of wines under the Twisted Sisters label including Southern Gentleman (a red wine), Sugar Daddy (a red wine), and Classy Lady (a chardonnay).
MagiQuest
Located at Broadway at the Beach, MagiQuest is like no other Myrtle Beach attraction. MagiQuest allows visitors to experience this game in real life! With wand in hand, guests journey through their quest each time they visit a MagiQuest location where they will meet characters and creatures who will give them tips, but the player must choose who to believe! MagiQuest provides hours of fun where there will never be a dull moment!
Miniature Golf
When your family visits the Landmark, they will find that there is a huge variety of mini-golf courses all over Myrtle Beach. With hundreds of mini-golf courses to choose from, your family might just have to try more than one! From an alligator about to eat a pirate to an airplane crashed in a jungle, Myrtle Beach mini-golf course have much to offer for families looking to have some fun!
Myrtle Beach Boardwalk
Just a short drive from the Landmark lies one of Myrtle Beach newest and most popular attractions—the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk. Opened in 2010, the boardwalk is the perfect place for a leisurely walk with a beautiful view of the ocean. Lined with storefronts and restaurants, there is plenty to do and see. The boardwalk starts at 2nd Ave. and ends at 14th Ave. Plyer Park sits next to the boardwalk where summer concerts are held, fireworks and other activities. The boardwalk also passes by the SkyWheel and has various access stairs to the beach. The southern section of the boardwalk features a quieter place to walk with benches and panoramic views of the beach.
Myrtle Beach Pelicans
You won’t have to travel far during your stay at the Landmark to catch a minor league baseball game! Class A Minor League Myrtle Beach Pelicans play at TicketReturn.com Field all summer long. A family friendly venue, the field offers up a variety of promotions for its guests including Kids Eat Free Mondays, Team Tuesdays, Weiner Wednesdays, Thirsty Thursdays, and Sunday Pregame Catch on the Field. In addition to specials, the Pelicans have several fireworks nights planned for the summer.
Myrtle Beach Segways
Glide along on a Segway the next time you stay at the Landmark! Myrtle Beach Segways is just a short drive from the Landmark. They offer a variety of options including a Market Common District Self-Guided Tour, hourly rentals and daily rentals. They also provide group options including birthday parties, family reunions and group scavenger hunts. No matter what you want to Segway experience to be, you are sure to find the perfect ride at Myrtle Beach Segway!
Myrtle Beach SkyWheel
The Myrtle Beach SkyWheel is just a short drive from the Landmark. Located next to the boardwalk, the SkyWheel is an attraction that you shouldn’t miss. Great for the whole family, for couples, or for friends, the SkyWheel offers rides in their private enclosed gondolas for groups as big as 6 people or as small as 2. The 42 gondolas are air-conditioned and reach heights of 200 feet at the top of the wheel.
Myrtle Beach Watersports
Myrtle Beach Watersports is the perfect place to fulfill your water sport dreams! Whether you want to try parasailing for the first time or view dolphins from aboard a jet ski, Myrtle Beach Watersports can help you live out your dreams with your family on the ocean! They will provide you with safety equipment and instructions so don’t worry if you don’t have any experience!
Myrtle Waves
Even though the Landmark has pristine pools and multiple water amenities, your family may want to check out Myrtle Waves for a day of fun in the water. A perfect way to stay cool in the heat, your family can choose from more than 30 rides that utilize more than 1,000,000 gallons of water. Admission to the park includes access to all of the rides and attractions.
Whether you choose to lounge by the pool, have a group picnic under a pavilion or slide down a huge tubular slide, your family is sure to have a blast. The park opens in the spring and closes in early fall.
NASCAR Speedpark
NASCAR Speedpark is located not too far from the Landmark on Highway 17 Bypass and is a fun and unique experience for the entire family. The park offers a variety of race tracks, multiple rides and an arcade. Plus, the Speedpark also has a two putt-putt courses that are NASCAR themed. Park attendees can choose to race each other or children can practice on the beginners circle. After your family is done playing at the park, they can go inside the snack bar for some pizza!
Pavilion Nostalgia Park
Even though the original Myrtle Beach Pavilion is gone, Myrtle Beach has salvaged parts of the original park to make a Broadway at the Beach attraction that includes rides, food and midway games at the Pavilion Nostalgia Park. The park is fun for all and includes rides like the Caterpillar Ride, the Willie the Whale Ride, and the Pirate Ship! When you are all tired out from the rides, check out the midway games like the Spill the Milk and Mini Basketball then indulge in funnel cakes and corn dogs! Be sure to take your family to the park during your next Myrtle Beach vacation.
Ripley’s Aquarium
A visit to Myrtle Beach is not complete without a visit to the Ripley’s Aquarium. It’s a perfect place for those curious about sea life and for those wanted to see the tiny fish up to huge sharks up close! They most notable part of the aquirum is the underwater walkway at the Dangerous Reef where visitors feel like they are underwater surrounded by the sandtiger shark, a green sea turtle, green moray eels and many other sea creatures! Other exhibits at the aquarium include Rainbow Rock, Rio Amazon and the Discovery Center, which is great for kids. Be sure to visit the Ripley’s Aquarium on your next Myrtle Beach vacation!
T.I.G.E.R.S Preservation Station
T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station is a fun experience like no other! Perfect for both kids and adults alike, this multispecies exhibit is a wild adventure for all! Whether you want to hold a baby cub or watch an ape play in the grass, you will not be disappointed! The tigers here are able to run around in a free and happy environment while their exhibit raises money for their wild cousins, the golden tabby tigers. Bring the whole family for an afternoon of fun at T.I.G.E.R.S.!
Wild, Water & Wheels
Wild, Water and Wheels, just as short drive south of the Landmark in Surfside Beach, is great for a day of fun with the whole family. You can swoosh down speed slides likr yhr Free Fall Cliff Dive, glide down mat slides like the Wild H20 Racer and tube down the White Water Express. Beyond being a water park, Wild, Water and Wheels also features an 18-hole mini-golf course, bumper boats and go-karts. For a more-slow paced activity, check out the lazy river or the lounge pool. Wild, Water, and Wheels is fun for the whole family whether you want to get wet or stay dry!
WonderWorks
Next time you are at Broadway at the Beach, be sure to visit WonderWorks. One of the most recognizable Myrtle Beach attractions, WonderWorks is a combination of all things fun. From their Xtreme 360 Bikes exhibit to Fun with Light and Sound, WonderWorks’ exhibits combine lots of fun with learning opportunities. When you are done exploring the more than 100 exhibits, head over to the ropes challenge course and climb 3 stories and best of all it comes with admission! Just make sure you trade in your flip-flops for closed-in shoes to participate in the ropes course. For an extra fee, you can compete in a lazer-tag game in a 10,000-foot battlefield, or fly across the water on an outdoor zipline. WonderWorks is a must-see attraction during your next Myrtle Beach vacation!
