In order to ease the minds of guests about the upcoming hurricane season, VacationMyrtleBeach.com has decided to introduce our hurricane guarantee. This section describes the 2009 Hurricane Policy for VacationMyrtleBeach.com packages and room-only reservations that are booked directly with us.
When does this policy become effective?
This policy is effective in the event a hurricane warning is issued no more than 72 hours before your scheduled arrival date by the National Hurricane Center for the Myrtle Beach Area.
What can I do if a hurricane warning is issued?
If a hurricane warning is issued by the National Hurricane Center for the Myrtle Beach Area, you must call in advance to reschedule or cancel your Myrtle Beach package or room-only reservations that are booked directly with us without any cancellation.
Will I be responsible for any other change or cancellation fees?
You will not be responsible for any other change or cancellation fees if your reservation was made directly through the resort. This policy does not apply to third-party suppliers such as airlines, car rentals, travel agents, tour operators or Internet-based travel agencies. You should contact these suppliers directly relating to their cancellation and change policies.
Will I be able to get my same accommodations if I prefer to reschedule my vacation to a different date because of a hurricane warning?
We will be glad to reschedule your vacation and try to accommodate your request based on availability. Keep in mind that any discounts or free offers applicable to your original vacation will not apply to the rescheduled vacation. Your new room rate will be recalculated to the lowest rate available at the time of change made to your reservation.
What if my vacation is interrupted by a mandatory evacuation?
If you are checked into hotel and the South Carolina Governor's Office issues a mandatory evacuation for the Myrtle Beach area, you will be refunded the remaining balance of your vacation plus receive a FREE night coupon for a future stay. Free night coupon will be issued at checkout and must be used by April 1, 2010. Once the evacuation is lifted and the property reopens, refunds will be issued. Cash paying customers will receive a refund in the mail. Customers that paid by credit card will be issued a credit.
Once checked into hotel, what if my vacation is interrupted by a voluntary evacuation?
If the South Carolina Governor's Office issues a voluntary evacuation for the Myrtle Beach area, you may either apply remaining balance to a future stay or receive a refund. Any checkouts after 11am will be charged for that night and be refunded the remaining balance of your stay. Cash paying customers will receive a refund in the mail. Customers that paid by credit card will be issued a credit.
Does this policy apply to groups and conventions?
This policy doesn't apply to groups, special event rooms, meetings or conventions. Please contact your group leader or the hotel's group sales office.
