The Market Common – A Hidden Summer Gem


Nestled between Myrtle Beach on the way towards the Surfside Beach area is the modern, classy and welcoming cove called The Market Common.  Here you will find a laid back atmosphere with blocks of stores for shopping, sweet shops, restaurants and more.  The Market Common has a beautiful park with a pond called Valor Park that is teeming with fish, ducks, geese and turtles.



There are seasonal events and festivals that The Market Common holds which brings a unique and delightful atmosphere to the area which is fun for all ages.

Horse Carriage Rides -  Free of charge for visitors of the Market Common are horse carriage rides that run from 5pm to 8pm every Friday during the summer.  You will find that they begin at Dolce Lusso and click clack around The Market Common area for a complimentary special ride enjoyable for everyone. 



Movie Under the Stars -  After your carriage ride, every Friday this summer at 9pm there will be a child friendly movie playing on a large projection screen in the park.  All you need is your family and a blanket to enjoy this outdoor theatre in Valor Park.



Music in the Streets -  All summer until August 27th on Wednesday evenings The Market Common lights up with live music in the gazebo and children have the opportunity for face painting at the park as well.  Grab a drink and some quality food from Gordon Biersch then walk across the street to the park and loosen up for the party. 



Farmer's Market -  There is nothing quite as close to experiencing South Carolina than to getting a taste of the locally grown fruits, vegetables and other local delicacies and handmade items.  Every Saturday morning there is a farmer's market at Deville Street from 10am until 2pm.  Come enjoy what is new and fresh in the area while you enjoy the beautiful scenery and get some fresh air with the family. 



Travinia Italian Kitchen and Wine Bar serves up some of the most quality American and Italian cuisine you will find in the area.  Come for their daily happy hour from 4pm to 7pm and stay for their wonderful entrees with choices like braised short rib rigatoni and spinach and goat cheese salad.  With your VMB Card expect 15% off of your entire check.
