Ripley's Aquarium is the most visited attraction in South Carolina.  This aquarium offers a unique experience to its explorers, and brings a factor of fun into learning about the magnificent underwater world and the abundant life within. Get up close and personal with sea creatures and explore sea life in a whole new way.  Ripley's gives you the opportunity to get wet with the sting rays, sleep with the sharks and become submerged into the magical land of mermaids.  Here, you will find a wide assortment of sharks, jelly fish, octopuses, horse shoe crab and more!

There are eight different regions for the many different inhabitants that show how they survive in their habitat modeled after their home in the sea.

-In the Rio Amazon sector,  one the deadliest fish that can grow to be over 44 pounds lives there and they are called piranhas.
-The Dangerous Reef is the most popular segment of Ripley's Aquarium.  It is a 340-foot long submergence into the underwater world, home to big sharks, thousands of fish, eels and sea turtles.
-The Living Gallery is home to more delicate yet magically colored creatures.  Giant Octopuses, sea anemones, and living corals are some of the sea life located there.
-Rainbow Rock includes a coral reef and its colorful neighbors of all shapes and sizes.
-The Ray Bay is a spectacular sight that displays thriving, smiling stingrays as they glide through the water behind the glass.
-The Friendship Flats is a shallow water lagoon that allows for stingray petting as they swim across the water's surface.
-The Discovery Center is also a hands-on experience where guests are allowed to pick up and hold horse shoe crabs.
-System Controls is a well-informing exhibit.  Here, the systems that help run the aquarium smoothly and keep the animals alive is displayed.

With all of these amazing sights to see, Ripley's Aquarium will be anything but a disappointment.  Entertainment and learning together is one the most precious and important parts of vacation.  Earn those memories here, where everyone has a chance to learn and awe at the wonders of the sea.
